Cavalier Trial
I got to go on a holiday a little while ago. Mum, Heidi and me went to Sydney to attend the NSW Cavalier Club's Agility & Jumping Trial. Heidi wasn't meant to go, but the skin grandparents threw a spanner in the works and went to visit my Auntie in Perth, so there were no doggy sitters available, so she came too.
It was good fun. I got to catch up with friends, and made some new friends too.
The agility trial was great. Mum had me in all 4 events - Open Agility, Novice Agility, Open Jumping and Excellent Jumping.
She was a bit worried about entering me in everything, especially as I'm not really ready for Open, but things worked out OK.
I surprised Mum by doing the distance in Open Agility, but decided that I'd just run around and blow off a bit of steam the rest of the time. We weren't DQ'd though, and this made Mum happy. In Novice Agility I decided not to do the weavers and was still blowing off excess steam and energy, but we somehow managed a first place because again, I didn't get disqualified.
By Open Jumping I was starting to settle down a bit and I also started to listen to Mum a bit more. I did the weavers, but not the distance, and we were DQ'd. Our final run for the night was Excellent Jumping. Now jumping really is my thing so I decided to behave and really listen to Mum. Well, it was a lovely run and again I managed to come 1st and qualify this time.
The picture above is of my stash and sashes. I won 2 bags of dog food (Heidi will get to eat those as I can't because of my kidney problems), a couple of photo frames, some chocolate (again I can't eat this but Mum tells me she can), a couple of scarfes, a doggy waterless cleaning mitt and the most important thing of all ... a new toy bunny to play with! It was the bestest prize of all!
The photo below shows me with a few of the prizes and the sashes. Mum seems to like the sashes and I must admit that they are pretty impressive. She said she is going to keep me for a bit longer, which I'm pretty pleased to hear.
